Middleweight Graphic Designer required for a well-established publishing and events company. This is a great opportunity to join a niche company based in central Bristol. 

Voyageur Group are industry leading publishers and event organisers within the Global Travel & Health Insurance Sector. Established for over 30 years, they have a strong presence in the market, with a growing number of titles delivered via print and online platforms.

The Candidate

The successful candidate will be responsible for helping drive the creative direction of campaigns. An understanding of typography, layout, and art direction will be needed to help the team produce the best work possible.

From time to time a Middleweight Graphic Designer may need to work hours that aren’t typical, so a flexible approach is needed to get the best from the job.

The Role

• The specific details of the role will vary, but common activities include:
• Design for print products such as leaflets, posters and magazines.
• Design content for online use
• Producing attractive and effective designs for all media
• Offering input to creative meetings and sharing ideas
• To produce general layouts and contribute visual ideas for all areas of magazine design
• Communicating with senior team members to give and receive feedback
• Liaising effectively with clients and other team members
• Supporting the team throughout the execution of campaigns and projects

Specific skill requirements

• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Expertise with leading design software packages
• The ability to meet deadlines in a high-pressure environment
• A background of working as part of a design team
• The ability to see projects through from inception to completion
• Excellent attention to detail
• Consistency regardless of project size
• Good organisational skills that support the rest of the team
• The motivation to maintain and improve design standards
• The willingness to listen to feedback and use it to improve
• Have confidence in producing, preparing and creating final PDFs for print
• Confident in liaising and collaborating with multiple internal departments.

Essential requirements:

A good candidate would have 3+ years of industry experience and good knowledge of the following tools:

• Adobe Creative Suite
• InDesign
• Illustrator
• Photoshop

Desirable requirements:

Basic knowledge of video editing
